Basic activities of Regional Centre „Zlatibor“ were:

• Providing business information and advices to potential and existing Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Entrepreneurs;
• Educating potential and existing SME-s and Entrepreneurs;
• Consulting services for potential and existing SME-s and Entrepreneurs;
• Partner relationship with local authorities/municipalities;
• Cooperation with the financial organizations, donors;
• Promotions, trainings, business marketplaces, consulting.

A large-scale campaign on promoting the regional development model as a way to the strategic long-term development of Zlatibor Region and all of its municipalities separately has started in May 2007. This initiative resulted in the municipalities of Zlatibor Region signing the Letter of Agreement. At this meeting, the Regional Development Council was founded with mayors and the Manager of RC Zlatibor as its members. After 9 municipalities had signed the Letter of Agreement, the Programme Committee was founded of the representatives of the municipalities and a representative of RC Zlatibor. One of the results of this initiative is a mutual agreement on the fact that Zlatibor Region needs a regional institution for development and that the best and most logical way to do this is to transform the Regional Centre for SME Development into a Regional Development Agency.

At the board of founders on 21st of February, 2008, a decision was made to transform Regional Centre for MSE Development “Zlatibor into RDA and to expand the board with the municipalities of Bajina Basta, Nova Varos, Priboj, Prijepolje and Cajetina. The municipalities Arilje and Pozega became founders during the 2008/2009.

80% of municipalities from the Region are the founders of RDA’’Zlatibor’’.
